Koh Samui Golf Generally

Golf is quite popular on Koh Samui. There are now three full size golf courses allowing you to enjoy playing in extraordinarily beautiful scenery. However, only one of these is a main championship course and that is the one at the Santiburi Samui Country Club. This is a full championship course and not for the feint hearted. There are two other full size courses on the island along with other "crazy golf" courses for children and holidaymakers.

Santiburi Samui Country Club and Golf Course

The Santiburi Samui Country Club is a championship 18 hole golf course set along a hillside on the island's north coast. It's known to be an exciting challenge and attracts top-notch golfers in the region. Santiburi is a championship golf course landscaped on side of the mountain near the centre of the island. It is an 18 hole, par 72, 6,930 yard long course with its own unique character and challenges. There are steep uphill and downhill slopes, winding fairways that cut into the coconut forests, cliffs and mountain creeks. Santiburi Samui Country Club is simply a unique golf course that is built in perfect harmony with its natural surroundings.

Royal Samui Golf and Country Club

The Royal Samui Golf & Country Club is to be found on the mountains between Chaweng and Lamai and has views of both beaches. It is a challenging 18-hole golf course that has an exquisite club house with restaurant, spa and swimming pool. This golf course offers fantastic panoramic views of the eastern shore of Koh Samui and the best bird-eye views of Chaweng Beach and Lamai Beach. It is embedded into the hillside and the high plains between Chaweng and Lamai with great scenery all round. From every hole the player is awed by panoramic views and the beauty of the course itself and its natural background. The elevation and angles of the slopes change constantly, which make the 18-hole course very demanding.

Bophut Hills Golf Club

Bophut Golf Course is located just five minutes from the major hotels at Bophut Beach and only ten minutes from the hotel strip of Chaweng Beach. The golf course is easy to find; just follow the access road to Bophut Hills and it is sign posted alongside the Samui main road near the traffic light in Bophut. When appoaching from Chaweng you turn left about 100 metres before the traffic lights; the make a right turn folowed by a left turn when you see further way signs. The club house is on your left hand side and the nine-hole golf course is on the right hand side. This course is ideal for holiday makers who like to enrich their holiday with a leisurely round of golf in the afternoon. The course has been professionally designed, is a par-27, offers high quality greens, club rentals and caddy services. These can be all booked at the pro shop inside the club house where food and drinks are also available.
